Patient Timers
Patient timers are customized for your office.  Timers can include:
  • Count-up timers, to show duration of services, consultation or patient waiting times.
  • Count-down timers, for use in the room while attendant is present.
  • Countdown timers with Alarm,  to light a nurse call light or sound a buzzer.

    Audio Dictation Feature (customized for user)
    The dictation control allows the practitioner to record a digital voice note to be available for review at any networked Technician Station. Notes can be sent to a Technician Station for transcription and printing or can be reviewed in a private office.
    Image Capture and TelepracticeTM
    The PORTALTM Examination Station can be configured to capture still images and 30-second video clips from any NTSC video source. Cameras can include color slit lamp cameras, hand-held cameras and eyepiece cameras. Cameras are controlled from the touch screen interface and the optional foot pedals or hand controller. Captured images can be viewed full-screen or in a summary window. Groups of images are easily navigated.

    Images are available for transfer to other PORTALTM locations with our TelePracticeTM features. Annotations can be included. All features are under our powerful software control which allows easy navigation of images.
     
    A recent seminar in Indianapolis with Dr.Scott Hobson, M.D., F.A.C.S. showcased some of the telemedicine and stereoscopic imaging features of PORTALTM.

    Library
    The PORTALTM Examination Station allows the user to have a custom library at their fingertips.

    3. Information about clinic services and marketing videos.
    4. Still images for explaining eye structures and diseases.
    5. Animations of surgical techniques and outcomes.
    6. Printable patient handouts and instructions.
    7. Instrument instructions and usage tips.
    This customizable library allows the practitioner to quickly access relevant information.
    Nurse Call / Room Annunciators
    A nurse call system is available which supports communications both room to room and with a Technician or other Station. On networked systems, the operator can alert a Technician Station of the need for assistance in a particular room. Colored lights on the control monitor show the status of the system. The PORTALTM Examination Station can control low voltage Call Lights located outside the room door which are analogous to the Technician Station display. These features are customizable for each end user.
    Video Clips
    PORTALTM provides quick selection of fixation/pacification videos. These video clips include cartoons for pediatric patients while providing multimedia entertainment for older patients.
    Room Lighting / Instrument Control
    The PORTALTM Examination Station allows control of room lights and other devices.
